Mavis and i had been searching for our dream location "in the sun" for about four years, decided on Spain and the area most suited to our wild side and budget. We chose Almeria with its beautiful beaches, mountains, villages, Mojacar and friendly people. Most of our research was done on the internet, it was during one of our many property searches we came across "Coles of Andalucia". A very welcoming web site.

We e mailed Simon with our requirements and some examples of villas we liked from his file and various other agents. He sent us his "Essential Guide to Almeria". This was the start of an enjoyable experience. We agreed to visit last November and "do some viewings". Simon helped us with great accommodation at two locations during our ten day stay.

We arrived in Vera. Next morning we were met by Simon who during the tour of various properties verified our requirements and budget. Day two, more viewings and stops for coffee and relaxed discussion. "Our" villa was saved to last, it ticked the boxes on location, specification, build quality and potentially price. Such a good fit that we cancelled future viewings and instead returned to "our" villa for a closer look including the surrounding area. We met up later with Simon and discussed making an offer.

Simon handled the negotiation with the vendor for us. Over an evening drink we heard that our offer had been accepted. Happily Simon was able to help us with contacts for finance transfer, banks and lawyers making and taking us to appointments. Mavis and i selected our team and the dream became a reality on 30 Jan 2012.

We recorded our experience for the future benefit of others thinking of purchasing a property in Andalucia. We found Simon the key to the whole process from understanding our requirements and helping us get our nie's to knowledge of the area geography, properties, legalities, builders and their build quality. We have looked at a number of properties in spain and spoken to a few companies regarding buying abroad. Last year my husband and I flew to Alicante airport on our first ever property search in Spain. As arranged, Simon met us at the airport and drove us down to our lovely accomodation where we were to spend four nights. We had a lot to pack in to our short stay but with Simon's careful planning and organisation we managed to see a great variety of properties and have plenty time for sightseeing trips in the area .We were on a tight budget and were unsure if we would find anything at all that we really liked in such a short visit. As it happened the very first property we saw we absolutely loved and it was within our price range! Keeping that first one in mind we viewed the other properties Simon had arranged for us. All were within our budget and very nice properties and there were three very strong contenders which we would have been happy with.We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Simon and absolutely never got even an inkling of the hard sell. The whole experience was stress free due to the guidance and support which was there for us whenever we wanted it. We contacted Simon before leaving the U.K. with a brief outline of our requirements and although we were only just out of the Costa Blanca he drove up from Almeria on each of the four days that we had prearranged to collect us. My Wife and I were very impressed with the way you collected and returned us to the airport at Almeria. Like many people looking for a home in the Sun, I expect they all feel as if there is going to be an enormous amount of pressure put on them to purchase a property that may not quite be the ideal one they are looking for. Not so with Simon, from the time we left the airport he was requesting information from us as to what we were looking for, which in our case was a new build or failing that, a modern second hand property. All this time we felt he was building up a picture of where we came from and what our standards were, this was of course what he was doing. We were nearly at the Hotel by then so I asked him why so many questions, his reply was, I can now put together hopefully, the areas and properties that I think you would care to view. I said to my wife over our evening meal that I hoped that he was not going to turn out to be a high pressured salesman because that was never going to worked for us. Next morning Simon was in reception to take us on our tour, to our surprise, not to look at any properties but to spend the day showing us the whole area from Coastal to Inland to Banks, Hospitals, Schools, Shopping and Small Town Centres his comments were very pleasant because as he said it is no good coming out here if you are not quite happy with the area, even if you buy a very nice property. The resale properties were in areas, which on the whole, were in the type of location that we liked; we travelled many miles that day and viewed many properties. We also looked at a number of new build sites which Simon said he felt we may not care for some of them but he felt we would benefit from the quality of the builders involved. We did appreciate one particular builder’s quality and layout of their sites, on stating this builder was the quality we were looking for he said he would take us to two of their new build sites which were sectioned into plots ready for sale and build. He stated that the first one would not impress us, he was correct; though the quality of build was good the area was not. We then travelled to the second site. Simon said he felt we would like this area and once again he was right, it was what we were looking for i.e. five minutes from a small town with all their facilities and yet in the countryside. We decided that this was for us and moved to the next sequence of paying a small deposit to secure our plot so that we could progress to the design of our villa. We do thank Simon very much for his patience and his lack of pressure to buy a property that he liked. He was pleasant, able and honest and showed us what he felt we wished to view at all times.

We have been dreaming of moving to Spain for many years and that time is finally here.We found Simons website and decided to contact him for a viewing trip.
